Welcome to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore BioBlitz, May 15-16, 2009! This is the official advance registration site for scientists and naturalists who wish to participate in the National Geographic and National Park Service 2009 BioBlitz at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Please register on this site if you are a professional scientist or naturalist, trained amateur, advanced graduate student, ecological consultant—generally, if you have sufficient expertise to find and identify organisms in the park and are willing to engage the public in species inventories.
If you do not fit the categories listed above, please register for a species inventory at the public registration site, which we anticipate will open in late March. In-person registration during the BioBlitz will also be possible for members of the general public, though participation on a field inventory team cannot be guaranteed for on-site registrants. Teachers who wish to bring their students as a sanctioned school group must register in advance via the teachers’ registration site. The registration forms ask for name, contact information, and your preferred activities at different times during the BioBlitz. Once you submit your information, you may log back on at any time and change it until this site closes on March 20. After that date, please email bioblitz@ngs.org to inform us of any changes in your registration. The following links provide information useful for completing the registration form and planning your involvement in BioBlitz. We recommend studying them before completing your registration: - Vegetation map
- Site descriptions
- List of approved methods
This registration is now closed. Thank you.
